Background

REI Outessa retreats are immersive, three-day outdoor adventures designed to connect women with the outdoors in a welcoming learning environment. Founded in 2016, the retreats are filled with activities and inspiration, offer access to coveted gear
and products, serve up great food and wine, and create the environment for making new friends and lasting memories. The retreats are for women who are both experienced in the outdoors and women who are interested in learning new activities.

This fun environment is designed by – and for – a supportive community of women who like adventure.

JAM's Role

Since the inception of the event series, JAM has been tasked with getting editors to attend and review these retreats in order to generate coverage and awareness about Outessa. While attending, JAM introduces these editors to the women who are breaking new ground in opening up access for women in the outdoors.
